BUDDHISM IN ACTION
Exchanges and encounters

In answer to a great demand from both Buddhists and non-Buddhists, Dhagpo organises encounters and exchanges between holders of the Buddhist tradition and representatives of other disciplines. The exchanges deal with fundamental matters of human existence (supporting the dying, education etc...)
These opportunities for meeting and sharing give rise to concrete action. They represent the expression of compassion in daily life.

Teenagers, living freely
What used to be known as "teen courses" have now become "teen retreats". Based on experience gained through various encounters over the years, the support work with adolescents coming to DKL has gradually become a means of deep personal transformation and development.

These five day retreats are both progressive and dynamic. Lama Jigme Rinpoche gives a teaching every day to the group of young people according to their experiences during the retreat and their own questions.

Semdrel
The association for supporting the dying and the bereaved.
Listening, a warm and attentive presence, a great respect for spiritual and ethical choices - these simple things give people confronted with the suffering of dying and bereavement the chance to come out of their solitude and to find their own solutions.
Semdrel trains volunteers and health care professionals for palliative care, supports those at home and in hospitals, organises meetings and reflection sessions, and offers courses and retreats combining Buddhism and support work.

The "School for Bodhisattvas project" has the aim of bringing together pupils, teachers and parents for a constructive dialogue in the light of the Buddha's teachings.
The project is a forum for reflection on everyday life in schools with the aim of promoting better teaching and better learning, and improving communication with others. Hence the name "School for Bodhisattvas". ( ONLY IN FRENCH )

The School in the Sky.
The School in the Sky (humanitarian association, 1901 French law) project was created in 1996 to help create educational programs in the Himalayas.
The construction of a school in Ladakh is the first link in a long chain. The entire project is backed by the wishes of Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dordje and Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, great masters of the tibetan tradition. In France, it is backed by Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, Karma Migyour Ling and the Karmapa Institute.
